What do you like to eat for breakfast at the weekend? Would like to vary ours a bit more, apart from the odd bacon butty they are very boring!

bacon in a roll with potato scone is standard weekend breakfast here although today we mixed it up a bit by having square sausage instead of bacon. Sometimes we add a fried egg in too. Other weekends we have croissants, pain au chocolat, mini petit pain with philly or ham, etc

American pancakes, today we had lemon and poppyseed, lovely! Other times we either have bacon/sausage/egg muffins, bagels, croissants and fruit etc and not often enoughleftover takeaway for me

I am quite partial to eggs benedict or is it hollandaise? Anyway take some muffins and put some nice thick ham on it, top with a poached egg and spoon some hollandaise sauce over the top...yum yum

Tomorrow I am going to do smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on muffins

Leftover takeaway, reheated.

Although, sometimes I come over all Nigella and 'whip up' some pancakes or a full cooked breakfast...

Blueberry pancakes here - they make me feel all Goddessy. Or Staffordshire oatcakes with mushrooms and a fried egg, plus HP sauce. In fact, I could eat the latter right now.

Soft boiled eggs with asparagus spears for dipping.

Kippers this morning. Will be having a lot of asparagus with eggs soon too.
Shackshuka in it's various forms - huevos rancheros and the plainer Jewish way. Kedgeree. Bacon sarnies, sausage sarnies, fry ups, middle eastern vinegary eggs, poached eggs, buttery scambled eggs. Pancakes with blueberries, crepes with sugar and lemon. Ricotta & lemon pancakes.

Favourite is soft-boiled eggs although sadly not when pregnant.

Other than that:

blueberry and banana pancakes with yoghurt
bacon butties with maple syrup
the occasional omelette
bagels (although that's pretty much every day)
homemade granola with fruit and yoghurt
sometimes, if we're feeling v greedy, cinnamon buns -allrecipes.com/recipe/ninety-minute-cinnamon-rolls/
eggy bread with fruit and yoghurt and compote

Always a bacon buttie on one day, with tomato ketchup, HP or a fried egg

Sausage sandwich or full English occasionally

Dd and me both love boiled, fried or scrambled eggs and toast with marmite

Poached eggs on rye toast with lots of tabasco

Dd and ds - Nigella's banana pancakes with maple syrup. Apart from strawberries or raspberries in summer, all efforts to add other fruit are resisted. I have syrup and crispy bacon

Almond croissant warmed in oven and huge latte

Eggs Benedict and glass of fizz in bed with peace and quiet... (in my imagination, this one Wink)

Staffordshire Oatcakes too, Remus! They have to be Povey's brand, no other will do. With melted cheese alone for purists. With bacon and egg for me (as a non-native of the Potteries until 13 years ago). Or to mop up the debris of a full English. They do mail order all around the world, which we didn't realise when living in nz for a year.

Or, several Jammie Dodgers and a pint mug of tea with a good book if I wake up early before anyone else Smile

I am very partial to a bacon butty, but sometimes will do:

  • Creamy scrambled eggs on toast with a couple of slices of bacon over the top
  • Omelettes or frittatas with ham/cheese/spring onions/whatever
  • Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels
  • Eggs Benedict
  • Crepes with nutella and/or lemon and sugar
  • Beans on toast with grated cheese

I really want to make a spanish omelette (with potatoes and onion) as I love those, but can never find the motivation to attempt so laborious a project on a lazy weekend morning! Maybe I should try prepping it the night before.
