We use these. Would she be better with something like meatballs. Grate carrot and apple into them. U can then serve sauce separately. The pasta u use what kind is it? Would something like orzo which looms just like rice or those litre pasta shells be better??
Instead of serving onto plates have you tried bringing the dishes in and allowing to serve herself?
What about trying thinks like satay chicken skewers (home made)
She gags on pasta and mince meat, I've tried her with them a million times - so everyday home-cooked faves like Shepherds Pie, Lasagne, Pasta Bake, Chilli etc she won't touch. Also if we have a roast dinner she'll eat the Yorkshire, roast potatoes and some veg but never eats the meat!
She'll eat potatoes, peas, sweetcorn, carrots, baked beans with anything like sausages (I tend to give her Quorn as they are less fatty) fish fingers, mummy's breaded chicken (I do this with egg and wholemeal breadcrumbs) , fish cakes etc but it seems she only likes 'dry' food which are separated on the plate, opposed to any of the aforementioned home-cooked meals which are a bit more 'sauce' based. (maybe it's just my cooking)
I was so anal about giving her home-cooked food when she was weaning. She never once had a jar, I cooked everything. She didn't have anything like chocolate or cake until she was almost 18 months (mean mummy). But now I feel like she'll only eat anything with breadcrumbs, which is not good!!
She's great with lunches and fruit!
What are your 3 year olds fave dinners? Do you give your 3 year olds vitamin supplements, if so which ones?
