Not very inventive this week as DH is at home. Tend to do different stuff when he's not here, for some reason
DS is 2 on Monday & is going through a human dustbin phase atm (am thinking growth spurt)
My 3 year old daughter is such a fussy eater. When she was a baby she ate almost everything but now she is very fussy and says everything is dirty. She will only eat fish fingers, jacket potato with cheese, omelette and rice. We have her with us at the dining table to she tries what we we are eating but refuses. The only fruit she likes are apples, pears without skin, banana and melon but I am thankful she eats some fruit. As she's my third child I'm not as stressed or worried as I would have been if it as my first child. The other day she ate two lamb mince samosas and shami kebab. Shami kebab are great as they are kebabs made with lentils and lamb mince. At least now I know she is getting some iron with the red meat. Hopefully she will grow out of her fussy phase like my other 2 kids did! If anyone wants the shami kebab recipe I use, here it is:
This is a great thread, have spotted a few things with my DTs writing it up (18mo)
Thurs dinner: Ellas chicken casserole, mash, steamed carrots - mostly eaten, some thrown, carrots rejected (poor nanny!). Yoghurt and raisins
and easter egg eaten
Thurs lunch: eggy bread and dried apricots, eaten
Thurs breakfast: Porridge with mango puree, banana, toasted tea cake, wolfed down
Weds dinner: Fishfingers, mash, peas - rejected by DS (hence nanny opened Ellas packet), DD ate every molecule. Yoghurt & pineapple - eaten
Weds lunch: Cream cheese sandwiches, tomato and cucumber (DD), bread sticks, pear - wolfed down
Weds breakfast: Porridge with fruit, toast with (sugar free) jam - wolfed down
Tuesday dinner: Ellas chicken curry and rice, peas, yoghurt, ginger cake, pear

Tuesday breakfast: porridge, blueberries, toast with Chocolate Philly - eaten
Monday dinner: Cauliflower cheese, bread and butter, can't remember what else - picked at by DS, eaten by DD.
Weekend pub lunch - toasted ham & cheese sandwiches, chips, salad for DD all eaten
Roast - potatoes, bread sauce, sausages, some chicken eaten by both, carrots and beans rejected.
DS1 is 3.7
Breakfast is always weetabix with raisons, and half a pear - eats, but needs prompting as cannot stop talking
Lunch is either ham sandwich with cucumber, pepper, cheese and pickle, or ravioli/hoops on toast - eats but needs prompting as cannot stop talking
Tea is whatever I have time to make and can be re-heated for DH coming in later from work - tonight was sticky chicken, rice and peas, and he eats but....see above!!
Sounds good - thanks!
Making lasagna tonight which I hope dd will eat tomorrow. Also planning a chicken in a pot a la Jamie at the weekend as she is a proper carnivore (but eats no fruit!)
Ooo, that does sound nice.
I quite like chicken in cornflakes or rolled oats too.
That sounds nice. I'm really struggling with ds right now, he's hardly eating.
Cut chicken into strips and bash flat a little bit
Dip in flour
Dip in egg
Dip in parmasan/ polenta mix ( 50:50 for both, and add seasoning usually parsley or paparika)
Cook in a frying pan with a spray of oil a few mins in each side until golden
forever please can we have a recipe for that pol/parm chick? I love polenta but rarely cook with it. Would like to try
And your risotto sounds good.
Some great ideas here! :-)
Those beans sound great, thanks iceberg.
Ooo, garlic mash, yum!
Breakfast: Porridge with apple - ate
Lunch: Artichoke and spinach quiche, cherry tomatoes and cucumber - ate quiche, one left cucumber, one left tomatoes!
Dinner- polenta and parmasan chicken, with brocoli and cauliflower- ate
Breakfast: boiled egg and toast, an orange- one ate white of egg, left yolk, the other ate yolk left white. Both ate toast and orange
Lunch: pitta bread pizzas - ate
Dinner - bacon, broad bean and mushroom risotto ( will be this eve, both love so probably eat most)
They eat most things generally.
Have you tried mashed potato with garlic in? Add a clove
or three of garlic when you put them on to boil and then mash as usual with butter and milk (leaving boiled garlic in).
Children usually love it-and the faster they eat garlic the better imho
Mine doesn't eat potatoes. He has once eaten mash and once eaten some baked potato. Every other time he has refused. He doesn't even eat chips!

I'm saving this thread.
I'm rubbish at thinking up decent meals for ds - 20months. It doesn't help that he can be very fussy, and go through phases of eating very little.
Today he had:
shreddies (Aldi's) -eaten
ham and cheese sandwich - mostly eaten
pack of chickatees (I know, I know! - but he ate them!)
Banana - eaten
He doesn't like chicken or potato (most days). Yesterday he had spag bol, which he loves, didn't eat it.
I bet if I gave him an easter egg he would eat the lot!
B: 1/2 slice of toast and some dry cheerios (DS goes mad if you add milk to them).
L: Tuna sandwich, sticks of green pepper and some cherry tomatoes.
D: Beef lasagna and yogurt.
B: A weetabix with raisins mixed in.
L: Carrot sticks and bread sticks with hummus.
D: Creamy tomato pasta and jelly.
B: Banana spread on toast.
L: Beans on toast.
D: Roast chicken, some jacket potato and vegetables.
DS is 23 months old, he had a huge appetite a few months ago but now he will rarely eat more than half, too eager to get back playing. There's some lovely ideas on here though...
All of the above, they ate.
Spag Bol, both love it. It's very simple though with no onions (gives them wind). Just mince in my homemade tomato sauce (courgettes, garlic and herbs simmered in tinned tomatoes then whizzed smooth, tastes almost creamy)
Home made pizza with ham and cheese (use tomato sauce as above for base)
Sausages and mashed potatoes
Roast chicken thighs with roasted new potatoes and veg (only takes 30 mins to cook)
Lamb and pork meatballs in Tom sauce as above
Smoked salmon fillets with pasta or potatoes
Chicken nugget (home made - dip strips of chicken in beaten egg then in crushed cornflakes and fry gently)
They dont eat a huge variety as fussy.
Message withdrawn at poster's request.
dd2 - 2 and a bit
shreddies, toast (eaten)
now at nursery
arancini - picked at, salad - picked at
cheese on toast - eaten
shreddies, fruit - eaten
tues - shepherds pie - picked at, peas - eaten
cheese and ham toastie - eaten
shreddies, fruit - eaten.
she doesn't really do proper dinners, unless of they are of the orange breadcrumbed kind. but she eats loads at breakfast and lunch.
dd1 eats everything, and usually polishes off dd2's leftovers.
Fried egg sandwich TSM (buttered 'proper' bread and some tomato sauce of course)
She loves eggs. All eggs. Yolk dripping off chin=happy DD.
For me, DH and DD, plus lunch for DH next day I did
Fried an onion , garlic and a grated carrot, and a few strips of streaky smoked bacon.
Added in a tin of tomatoes
Two cans of borroti (sp?) beans
Lots of tomato puree, tea spoon of vinegar, some ketshup, two teaspoons of honey. Then tasted and altered.
Mash potato topped with cheese. Oven.
Serve with veg of choice.
I went onto the good food website and looked at the family meal recipe section for ideas as was getting bored.
Above was cheap too.
What's a fried egg banjo ankly?
(Just a wee experiment with your name there, I'm also on the "how do you shorten your nn" thread at the moment.)
We are having mince, tatties and doughballs for tea tonight, with carrot and broccoli. Yummy!
How do you do the bbq beans, iceberg?
We used to make the cheesy lentil thing occasionally. I really like it, but DS not so much. And we rarely have eggs in the house nowadays so it seems a waste to buy just for me to eat cheesy lentils.
