Playing with flour in my kitchen . DH just wandered in and said hopefully "cake?" And then ,in a disappointed voice,"oh mumsnet !" And wandered off.

1lb of flour is 16f fl oz in a measuring jug.

Flat tbs = half oz.

Did you guys just really measure this out for me?

thanks You're amazing

An ounce is only a teaspoon? shock

Thought it would be more like a tablespoon! Why do recipes ask for "one tsp of bicarb" instead of 1oz? [conused]

You're lifesavers.

525 mls on my scales using my measuring jug . Or 17 fl oz

Nope, just measured.
A level tablespoon is about an ounce though.

1 dessertspoon is roughly 1oz. Don't heap it too high obviously. I would do 11 and mix it, and see if it needs the last one

Isn't a teaspoon an ounce?

Wanted to make soda bread. I have a measuring jug, can I do some kind of bizarre conversion?

Very annoyed, the bastarding thing worked fine when I used it at Christmas and I spent hours trying to find the obscure batteries it takes only in November sad
