What are you favourite smoothie recipes?

Sorry if this has been done before, but I couldn't find it when I searched. I've decided I don't eat enough fruit and thought that a smoothie was probably the best of way of increasing my fruit consumption. I've got a blender, so what do I do? Just literally chuck it all in? Do I use yoghurt and ice as well?

I buy melons, puree them in the blender and then freeze in icecube trays. Shove them in with pretty much any other fruit rather than ice!

Oh, and I use apple juice as a base - add at the end to improve the drinking consistency!

peach & banana
banana & strawberry
blueberries work well (can freeze whole berries and puree from frozen)

easiest is

6 strawbs, 1 banana, 1 (large!) tbsp natural yoghurt and juice of one orange for nice breakfast smoothie. It's the recipe from Innocent. (for 1 person)

other than that ummm handful blueberries,1/2 pineapple, and juice of one orange.. think thats all in that one, it's yummm...

Innocent have 2 books of their recipes. Well worth it. You will probably need an electric juicer too as any apples, pears etc you use have to be juiced first.

Do you all have juicers or do you use a blender?

We would like a juicer but not sure which one.

mines a very cheap juicer. It just means that when you chuck apples, pears, oranges in, the pithy bits don't make the smoothie all frothy. Plus apple doesn't blend very well!
