Anyone got an Aldi pressure cooker?

Have been considering buying one for an age and see that they'll be for sale in the Random Aisle of Aldi this week for £30 this week.

It's a stainless steel one with layered base so sounds good.

Does anyone have any experience of how they perform / last and if it's possible to buy replacement seals?

TIA

My mum swears by her pressure cooker. Always said she found it better than the slow cooker. In fact, I am tempted to empty out our piggy bank and head to Aldi now eve though I have no idea what I would cook in it.

Thanks for the heads up Grin hope someone stops by with more helpful advice soon!

In (partial) answer to my own question, I got one and think it's fantastic so I've come back to evangelise Grin

Slow cooker hasn't been out of the cupboard since I bought the pressure cooker and have used it pretty much every other day for soups, bolognese, curry, marmalade, rice, dried beans and pulses and plenty more.

I'm aware there may be an element of honeymoon period, but I'm amazed that I can cook meals that previously took an hour or 2 in 20 mins.

Don't know about seals yet but I'll look after the one I've got and will look into replacement one if/when it perishes.

Think the Aldi offer is over now but apparently Argos have stainless steel ones for £24 or so ATM.

If you've been considering it, get one!

love mine but don't use it often enough. Have fond childhood memories of my mum making yummy chicken casseroles in hers. In fact might dig mine out or tomorrow!

I really think it's fantastic and so hope the novelty doesn't wear off.
Knocked up leek and potato soup in 20 mins (including prep) for lunch, DC had a delicious bolognese that I made a huge batch of while DP bathed them a few evenings ago (ie 30ins) and have a big pan of rich chicken stock ready to go (after 20 mins on the hob).
The things a bloody marvel Grin

Aldi still have their deal on the £30 pressure cooker but there is a Tower 7litre one at Argos for the same price (marked down from £40). I have had my Tower pressure cooker for years. The only thing I have replaced is the rubber gasket and these are easy to get on-line. Being bigger you can prepare enough for the freezer too. My granny used one and mine is more out of the cupboard than in it! Honesty if you haven't used a pressure cooker before you will be amazed how much time it saves - melty stews & veg ready in 30 mins, soups in 15 mins - the list is endless & don't forget to use the meat or veg water left for stock & gravy.
