Can I freeze bags of stir fry veg

10p each reduced from £1.20 as todays date so bought 3 bags. Cooked one for tonight. What do I do with other too. Doesn't say anything about freezing on bag. Contains bean sprouts, carrot, onion, pepper and cabbage. Was thinking I would steam them to part cook as worried about bean sprouts, then cool and freeze ready to use in noodle stir fry in future.

Snapping up on date bargains is new to me but on a tight budget now so enjoying learning something new. Please tell me I didn't waste my money (all 20p of it).

Well, given that you can buy bags of frozen stir-fry veg, presumably yes. I usually keep a bag of ASDA stir fry for when I've run out of fresh. It includes beansprouts and they don't appear to me to have been precooked. I would think its important to freeze as quickly as possible to minimise cell damage and resultant mushiness.

Thanks. I've steamed them for a few minutes, then cooled with cold water and pt in freezer. Fingers crossed I survive reheating it.
