Try this one from the bbc website. I tried it last week and it is really good;
(its enough for 2 bases and I didn't use a bay leaf)

2 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 bay leaf
1 tsp dried oregano
1x400g can chopped tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato purée
flaked sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

For the sauce, heat the olive oil in a medium saucepan and gently cook the onion and garlic for about 8 minutes until softened. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 10 minutes until you have a thick, spreadable sauce. Season with salt and pepper, then remove the bay leaf.

I would assume passata with basil and garlic would do .. I'm not one for 50 million ingrdients

Fry frozen chopped peppers and frozen chopped onion with garlic (from a tube) and mixed herbs (from a tube) and add chopped tinned tomatoes

Then blend/liquidise

It freezes great and can be used as pizza base, add to mince for bolagnaise, as a side dish for homemade nuggets or added to cheese in a toastie

Had exactly the same prob and found this last week. It's by Ed Baines, don't think about it being tinned toms, it's utterly delicious, takes five mins max to make and I only left it to stand for like 20 mins.

400gm Tin of plum tomatoes, finely chopped
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper
Oregano (dried, large pinch to taste)
Garlic Finely Chopped (Min one clove, again to taste I used 3)

Leave to stand and then spread on pizza base before adding cheese, ham etc.

tomato puree, basil, bit garlic, spoon of honey or brown sugar, then ideally sour cream but creme fraiche, yoghurt, regular cream or in a pinch full fat milk will do

mix to suitable colour and texture and spread.
