Hello! Am about to make a cake and the recipe says put everything into a food processor but I don't have one. I have an electric hand-held mixer thingy. Can I use this instead?? In which case, should I add the ingredients seperately or bit by bit??

Thank you!

Yes, should be fine. Mix the bUtter and sugar first then add the eggs bit by bit and then the flour

Is it a hand mixer with whisk attachments? Or a hand blender for chopping things up?

If it's the whisk type, it will be fine to use, it may be bet to do ingredients separately, as sometimes these are not as powerful as food processors.

You could always go "old school" and just use a wooden spoon smile

Wow! That was quick! Thank you so much. It has whisk type attachments. I really didn't want to do old school so thank you for the advice (It's Nigella's choc orange cake btw - yum!)! grin

I was laughing when I said old school, I'm very lazy when it comes to baking and chuck the lot in the mixer, don't think I'd bother if it involved a wooden spoon either!
