Does anyone sell at farmers' markets?

I know there's an archived thread about this, but I can't open it. Sorry if it's recent.

Does anyone sell food at farmers' markets? If so, do you just book a stall and turn up, and do you need food hygiene certificates etc?

Any information would be appreciated.

My fil sells at farmers markets in England and does very nicely actually but I am sure he had to have his kitchen inspected etc.
