If you've got metal skewers, poke them through as it helps distribute the heat and cook the insides more quickly.

They will be fine.

If I am doing oven jacket potatoes for when the kids get back from school I put them in the oven at 200 while I am in and then turn them right down before I go out. I then turn the oven back up once home and they are ready to eat once the kids are ready.

I would stick them in.Thye will be fine and have nice crispy skins. About 160 on my oven, not sure what that is on gas.
Quick question. If I put in baked potatoes now, will they still be edible (and not catch fire) if we eat them at 8pm. Fireworks tonight and want them to come back to. What temp please?

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
