I love making a monkfish salad but its so expensive. It cost me £5.50 for one monkfish tail in Morrisons yesterday, I need a cheaper alternative.

lobster would be the best alternative, not sure that it's cheaper though.... Other shellfish might work, perhaps cooked king prawns, they are pretty cheap frozen from Chinese grocers.

Mmmmmm, I'm not keen on prawns. Thanks though, guess I will stick to monkfish and only have it every now and then.

Does it have to be a white fish? Salmon salad is nice, as is smoked mackeral salad (and it's oily fish so full of your omega whatsists)
