Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

There is a recipe for a courgette and pine nut cake in this month's Waitrose magazine, it says you need to use nice little ones for sweetness.
You could also make zucchini bread when you have a few more.
I have three or four courgettes already on my plants, about the size of a finger and lots of flowers so hopefully more on the way, can't wait to eat them!
envy back at you thereis - but it's a [vomit] green grin

Courgettes are also lovely with tiny grey shrimp (like potted shrimps), chilli, lemon and mascarpone. Use as a pasta sauce.
Ooh thanks chops - shall make for a picnic lunch on Sunday then smile

jj - how do the veggie sausages work?

Just started to harvest mine too. Next week we are having Jamie O's Courgette Carbonara, Annabel Karmel veggie sausages (lots of grated courgette) and just boiled/roasted/grated and stir fried with a bit of garlic every other day!
I add tabasco for a bit of kick when griddling them.
parboil 3 med/large potatoes chopped into smallish pieces.

Fry a large onion, til softened, then add a good handful or two of grated courgettes fry for 5 mins or so, then add pots, a good handful of grated cheese and seasoning and herbs. stir so that pots are well coated in oil, and everything is combined then pour over about 6 whisked eggs. leave on very low heat for about ten mins then put in the oven or under the grill to finish it off and brown the top.
It's best made the day before so it's got plenty of time to chill, then cut up into wedges and serve with salad. It's also great for picnics.
Ooh, griddled sounds good mothersmilk... [dribble]. Maybe I can do tortillas on Friday when I should have a couple more -if chopstheduck can give me more instructions? Please? smile

And frogs - I'm not completely sure actually blush. I think they went into the greenhouse mid-May, and into the ground just after the sudden coldsnap, whenever that was? Am in Norfolk btw with a southfacing bed, sandy soil manured with alpaca dung (present from a friend)

have you got a griddle pan? slice them length ways depending on size ypu may be able to get 3 nice slices from each drizzle with olive oil salt pepper and just colour them on both sides failing that get a potatoe pealer and slice very thin slices length ways and add to a salad
i had three out of the garden yesterday they were lovely

courgette tortillas with rosemary would be lovely and can serve with lots of salad. Then invite me for dinner.

Can I ask when you first planted them? I must be late with mine, they haven't even flowered yet.
Now, what shall I do with them? There's 3, I'd like to cook them for supper tonight, and I don't want to over-power the flavour (even though I do have lots of yummy rosemary, Step Away from the rosemary).

What do you think? Was thinking of a side-dish...
