Does anyone have a copy of this book they could lend/sell? It's written by Carlos Gonzalez. Seems outrageously priced on amazon. Or any recommendations for soulful/grounded/not too nannyish advice? Ta
My advice?
Serve nice food to the family. Sit together, chat, laugh, eat. After a decent amount of time take plates away without commenting on hoe ouch or little anyone has eaten. Repeat for every mealtime for the foreseeable future. Make sure that fruit, milk and plain brown bread is the only thing available to eat between meals.
And relax. No child has ever starved themselves to death, or, come to that ever suffered any long term damage from appearing to eat nothing for several months!

Well of course DD does eat, just generates a lot of attention through resisting. I act calm, but have noticed how much of her bad behavior's generated by hunger/sugar lows. Need some direction. _a plan_!
Honestly, follow my plan. It works. It's cheap, and best of all, following it doesn't line the pockets of some childcare guru whose main goal is to make you feel guilty enough to buy his next book, and who probably hasn't got any children of his own.

I like the simplicity seeker, and the sense too. I've resisted calling it a problem, labelling her I mean, after all how rich is annabell Karmel?
Absolutely. People only make money by creating problems that they can sell you solutions to. I wish I could make a fortune with my child care book "Whatever It Is, Wait a Month or Two And It'll Get Better" but sadly the entire book's in the title!

Ha ha! Yes, my book is called wait a month and they'll be doing a different irritating thing.
I read in the paper that Gonzalez' book talks about why children pick the food they do and that interested me.
OK. So. After a nice lunch, which has been refused, do you do a structured snack time later? I assume you're not recommending letting them pick bread and fruit instead of lunch?
By the by, lunch was not a challenge today. Hmm. She can smell my resolution.
Have you tried your local library for the book? For a small fee they may be able to reserve it for you
Lunch on the table - not eaten, Plate removed without comment. Any complaints of being hungry later to be met with "Help yourself to some fruit - tea is at 6.00 and we're having some lovely....." "Or have a piece of bread - tea is.....ditto"

Of course! How could I forget the lovely library? I pay them so much in fines, just hope that money's ploughed back into book buying.
