We are hoping to make some edible xmas presents this year and one of my ideas was to make fudge (nice & easy!!)- but does anyone know how long it should keep for? Not sure how soon I can start making some when it's for christmas...Thanks!

It would keep for about 5 minutes in my house <chomp> <yum>
The recipes I have looked at say 1 month in the fridge. But mine will have to survive 1 month in the mail. So I am hoping it will be ok.
I make my own fudge - but it never lasts more than a week so I can't give you any real help with this, I'm sorry. I'd guess that the more air you can exclude from the packaging, the better.
LOL @ Tinkjon - was just about to post "well if you're lucky, to the end of the afternoon..."
Thanks ladies. Will have to think about how best to package... We make a batch a week and it lasts 48hrs max (and we're all heffers as a result ) so never tested prolonged storage...
