HELP ! Made a steak pudding but no tin foil.....how do i steam it without ?

Use a cloth. Its what they used before foil was invented!

Depends on the grade of cling film you are using. If steaming, you will be running at 100deg.C and some cling film will struggle at this temperatures.

Greaseproof paper or baking parchment would be OK.

Given that all the master-chef people seem to poach chicken wrapped in cling film I reckon that might work if you were desparate.
