What can I add to my soup?

It has leeks, potato, onion, chicken stock, salt and pepper and a little bit of white wine but tastes pretty bland. What can I add to make it tasty? More stock/seasoning or another ingredient entirely?

Try a touch more salt. You need more than you think for a vegetable soup.

Lentils, carrots, bacon?

Pepper!

I always blend a celery stick and a carrot into my leek and potato soup. And much more black pepper than you think you need.

Lentils, butternut squash, garam masala,

Maybe some herbs - bay leaves, or sage maybe?

Cream. I always add shredded winter greens to my leek and potato soup too.

Lots of ideas, thanks smile I was thinking about adding cream, can you still freeze soup if it has cream in? I've made loads and it's only me that will eat it!

Oh, oops - ref totally forgot there are parsnips in there too, hence not plain l+p soup! blush

I've never had a problem freezing cream in soup or sauces.

Brilliant smile I've added more salt and pepper, and I think I'll also add garlic and cream, maybe thyme too...
