it is wholly unnatural.

I am very open minded with food, but this sounds unfathomable.

i add cranberries to make pecan pie less sweet.

Pecan pie! Not pee!

Well it's very sweet but not traditional e everywhere. I never make it. I much prefer the cranberry sauce and stuffing! Pecan pee it worth making! I have never noticed any marshmallow tasting different based on color...

I'm making it for a Thanksgiving meal.
I don't even like marshmallows but I want to try it.

Ditch the marshmallows and add pecans and brown sugar. Much nicer and still very American.

It's revolting. Sweet and sickly.

Have an early thanksgiving meal tomorrow with American friends. How will I know if the marshmallows are all vanilla flavoured?

I'm doing this for my American thanksgiving meal, we're having this, fried chicken, mac and cheese, corn on the cob, greens and cobbler for pudding.

I made it a couple of years ago (nigella's) and hated it. I have an insanely sweet tooth, I'm all in favour of sugar on ham (I've even been known to put it on lamb - with a load of chopped mint, delicious!) but marshmallow on my sweet potato was a step too far, even for me.

Sounds a dish for pregnancy only....

Nah, pink will do as long as they are the vanilla flavoured ones. I love the m but DH not keen at all.

Worth making? I was going to do it a la nigella. Does it have to be white marshmallows?
