I have been very happily giving ds ham etc. almost every day but he no longer wishes to eat meat. Atm he gets jam on Fridays because we don't eat meat on fridays but I don't want to do that everyday because I want him to have some protein. He will eat cheese in a sauce but he doesn't like cheese sandwiches (too cheesy). He likes egg but I worry about them going stinky. I don't really want to give him cheese and onion rolls etc too much because my dd would want them too and she is a bit overweight. I do give him pasta sometimes but not everyday. Is their some magical quorn solution? I thought about a quorn chickenburger with salad but I don't know if quorn is acceptable cold.
Any ideas?

will he eat fish? Tuna/salmon?
Philadelphia - not too 'cheesy'?
Cucumber, with the crusts cut off
Mine love noodles and cous cous salads
Can he eat mayonnaise? That is lovely with salad.
I also like plain salad sandwiches, but with a bit of onion in.
Cottage cheese and cucumber is a Geordie stottie (ie Newcastle sandwich) favourite, but mostly with students. They put crisps in.

Make some thick hummus - no tahini if he reacts to sesame obv.
I seem to remember buying one which was hummus and grated carrot - went together very well.

I once tried the quorn 'beef slices'. Urgh. Even the dog wouldn't eat them.

X post! I quite liked the beef ones but did drown them in mustard so that probably explains it
My current fave is a wrap with lettuce, quorn roast chicken style bites and mayo. Yum!
Marmite and cucumber
Peanut butter

Marmite
Avocado
Banana (I love banana sandwiches)
That mushroom pate / spread - you can get it in a tube in wholefood shops, it's quite nice, or in tubs in the chiller cabinet as mushroom pate. this stuff (don't panic the £29 quoted is for a whole box for shops, i think)

He won't eat fish
Philadelphia might be ok, especially with cucumber or something.
He likes salad so its an option but I could do with him having more protein really.
Is quorn spam a real thing? He loves regular spam so that would work
Not sure about hummous, he reacted to sesame before although it might have been cross contamination because his skin prick was negative. I'll try making some without sesame. Does it keep? Nobody else like it.
He also doesn't like spicy. I usually wouldn't indulge so much but he vomited up a curry due to an allergic reaction and isn't over it yet.
I'll get some quorn fake meat and see what he makes of it.
He is capable of making a banana sandwich but he would just arse around instead. He wouldn't eat at all if it were up to him.
He doesn't like marmite, annoying as he loved it when he was little.
Peanut would kill him.
He does like mushrooms so he should like mushroom pate. Doesn't like avacodo
Thanks everyone

Bean pates. You can make your own quite easily, with soaked/cooked beans if you can be bothered, or just with a tin of kidney beans, butter beans or whatever. Mash/puree and add flavourings like lemon juice, herbs, garlic, spices, salt/pepper, etc.

I know you've mentioned egg going stinky, but a couple of my friends like to make a simple omlette with whatever they fancy in it (ie mushroom/onion/cheese/sweetcorn/pepper/tomato etc) and then put it in a tortilla for an omlette wrap. Sounds minging but it works
Other nut butters? Or is he allergic to all nuts? Or just give him cheese and dd ham?

Spanish omelette is great cold, if you can be bothered to make it.

Redwoods and Tofutti do some great sandwich fillings. All delicious and all suitable for vegans!
Have a look here for Redwoods. 'Cheatin' ham, chicken and turkey slices, etc.
This stuff is a great dairy-free 'cheese' spread. There are also versions that have garlic and chives in them.
These are available in health food shops, such as Holland & Barrett.

My DD is having a whole hardboiled egg in her lunchbox tomorrow - maybe slightly less stinky or not than an egg sandwich?
falafel in pitta bread or a wrap?
the Great Foods (kosher) ones taste nicest and are nut-free

I often make my own egg mayo sandwiches for work and they don't go stinky at least noone has admitted I stink!
I don't like the quorn fake meat stuff but if he's only just stopped eating meat maybe he will.
Would he eat pasta with pesto, sundried tomatoes, roasted veg and chunks of feta cheese? I have that sometimes too, it's yummy.
Could he have school dinners? Or would the nut allergy make that tricky?
