~There has been a gradual erosion of my attachment to mumsnet over the last year the aetiology of which is multifactorial and I list a few

  1. mouldiegate
  2. the hun factor
  3. and now DailyMail debacle which seems to take all the fun out of posting

Goodbye, I will no longer be posting but might well lurk for useful advice occasionally
Thankyou to you all for making me laugh over the last few years.
(I am secretly interested to see if anyone gives a toss)

Right, so you'll be happy to take stuff from MN but not give anything. Fab. Off you go then.

Whatever would Miss Grayling say??

Sorry it's not what you want it to be anymore, hope you get sucked back in.

I am interested in your use of the word 'aetiology'. You what?

I agree with all of what you've said - I also am losing my attachment though I think people are fab on here.

I have avoided the daily mail stuff but I'm guessing they're going to post what people have said.

Yet another reason to censor what we say. Tbh I am mostly sticking to lightn'fluffy threads now.

Lurk away, post when you can and stay well

ps. you have my fave Enid Blyton name and have always secretly wondered if you have swishy brown hair in an alice band

I really don't get flouncers corner. If you are going, go. If you are staying, stay.

99% of people who seem to use this topic always seem to return.

To me it is kind of like those popularity threads.

Isn't it 'multifactoral'? Am prepared to be proved wrong, but I just wondered.

SD, I can't face posting and being quoted in the Daily Mail.
It is not in my make up.
plus I have given my worth I think over the years

It is the straw which broke the camel's back
Plus I am amazed how much more you can get done when you are not on the internet the whole day

No fimbo, have never used flouncer's corner ever before
In my opinion, you can only use it once, and then you have to go
No excuses etc etc

But why do you need to announce your are going?

Presumably you would contact "friends"from here in rl.

Sorry not getting at you per se, I just don't see the need for this topic at all.

DR sad to hear you feel disillusioned. I remember you from an old conception thread. Just think how much more real life you can get done now though! Best wishes.

I'll miss you. Everytime I see your name I go and dig out another EB. Am just riffling through 'The Twins at St. Clare's' at the moment. Not as good as MT but a nice way to while away a coupe of hours.

in my field aetiology is generally multifactorial...(wonders whether DR is in a related field...)

Cheerio

I do sort of know what you mean

I don't 'know' you, DR, but know who you are, IYGWIM and have enjoyed reading your posts

I am mere MN plankton in comparison but went on holiday for a week and have really struggled/been bothered enough to get back into it (what I mean is, I have no personal ties here but have enjoyed MN and all it offers)
