Maybe I'm being oversensitive but I was accused of being a troll at the weekend (I wasn't) then my account was suspended temporarily whilst MNHQ looked into things.

Now I find certain posters piling in with PAs and hardly anything done if I report them. Yet if I'm reported I get the big guys of MNHQ coming onto me.

I do have a bit of free time due to gardening leave so maybe too much to spend on boards and yes gardening leave work situation was sudden and has depressed me...

But I'm wondering whether MN is for me anymore. Don't want to spend every fifth post wondering who will pile in. They had their reasons on this newest post. Tried to apologise to no avail.

You have made (that I've seen) two particularly mega response inducing posts/posted on thread.
I felt like you didn't step away when it may have been best for you, you inferred that you were brought up better than another poster because her contribution - which was also that of the majority of posters, was different to your own opinion. But yes you got your arse handed to you on the woman at the door thread.
I'd name change as you will have poo affiliations but don't go. I like your posting style in the main.

Feral I won't name change but I will lie low. I really did get my arse handed to me on the woman at the door thread, and the ones who did agree with me soon fled at the first sign of the others turning! Hey ho!

Youngpretender yes the farted on the bus wasn't my finest hour but I've seen worse here and the abuse I got was unreal. Really silly stuff. Keyboard warrior syndrome where they wouldn't dare name call in real life!

I've decided I'm going to stick to the fluffy threads I know best for now which are Telly Addicts, Litter Tray, S&B and Chat and then retry after a couple of months under this name. If the vipers chase me under it then I'll namechange!

Try not to let them grind you down, and please don't feel you have to name change, you really shouldn't be forced to by people who haven't got a clue and no sense of perspective

The flamers on that thread were quite vile because it was PA and abuse but I reported them. And on other threads if I get similar abuse i just report. Why should I name change?!

I admit if you know me (ha, famous, don't think so here!) I'm quite marmite (love or hate) but that's me. And I'm not going to change any time soon!

I'm not sure why you are so opposed to name changing. Lots of MNers do it all the time, or use more than one name for different types of threads.

Generally on MN I'd say that if a thread has actually upset you personally a break is in order. Either NC and lurk for a while you lick your wounds or take a break for a month.

I disagree with the general principle that MN is full of Vipers out to get anyone. Posters just have the ability to be searingly honest and blunt because they are mostly anonymous and it's not face to face. That means that MN isn't the right place for everyone as it can be fairly abrasive and bracing.

I forgot this part of the site existed. I was on your poo thread, SuperFlyHigh and I think that it depends on the overall tone and who posts at the start of the thread. Poo threads are quite odd anyway and that's just the way they are treated.

It's not a goady thread and that wasn't a nice post. Same old there too.

I stuck up for you and reported several troll-hunters too. I've been accused of trolling once and it was hurtful. I've never been anything other than this name and there's no need for you to namechange either. :)
