I find Meryl Streep very watchable but I just have an awful feeling this film will grate on me like nails on a blackboard.

Yes and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Gently funny and rather touching. Hugh Grant is actually very good in his role, his acting style seems to suit the era in which it's set.

It's actually a moving and sad story., with some very good acting, particularly from Hugh Grant.

It's a wonderful film and very moving. All the acting was fab.
