I am starting up a dvd collection for my ds, and wondered which ones where the most loved by other people's dcs.

DS is very nearly 4 so a little older but he really likes "My Neighbour Totoro", "Toy Story 1 and 2" (not shown him 3 yet as I think he's a little too young for it ), "Fireman Sam: Heroes of the Storm" and bits of "Frozen"!

Basically he loves the "Let it Go" sequence but is not that fussed about the rest of the film!

When dd was that age it was the classic Disney version of 101 Dalmatians - and still is, many years later Smile

The original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with Gene Wilder. Both dcs love it actually (3 and 6) and don't seem to tire of it.

Ds is 2 1/2 and has enjoyed beauty and the beast, jungle book, frozen, finding Nemo and the Thomas the tank films. Less keen on monsters inc, toy story and ice age. He tends to prefer things with songs in.

Ds1 Was Cars and Planes. Ds2 doesn't really sit and watch for that long but if he did it would probably be one of the Thomas movies.

Can your kids all sit through and follow films at 2/3 yrs or are they more looking at the pictures?
Mine likes the black and white bit at the start of Paddington but not the actual film. He hated Horton just kept shouting no and crying.
Quite like the where the ark one.
Ps I'm not in the UK so they are translations of our titles, hopefully you can work out what I mean.

Dd is 3. She loves Frozen, Tangled, Minions and Lady and the Tramp but not 'the naughty bit' (with the rat) and Toy Story. She's tried a few other Disney ones but wasn't overly fussed.

JuxtapositionRecords · 12/04/2016 20:19

mighty out of interest why do you think your DC is too young for toy story 3? Not judging or anything, just curious.

Mine like Frozen, Toy Story, Mary Poppins ( I didn't think the 3 year old would like this but she loves it!), Kung Fu Panda.

Ds2 loves Up, Dino time, toy story 1,2,3 and the SpongeBob movie.

DD (3) loved beauty and the beast, frozen and toy story 1,2,3.

Ds1 (5) loved Edward scissorhands. On repeat. All day, every day. And occasionally Jurassic park 1,2,3, or the walking with dinosaurs/monsters/beasts series.

Winchester - yup! She can tell you what happens next, relates to life eh in Dino time she will point at the mummy T. rex and say that's you mummy. In ice age she will compare Manny to her dad

She can tell you things about the films etc. I was shocked as I thought it was just the music she likes in frozen!

We went to a train museum recently dp is a complete geek and she walked round telling everyone about which train was which in terms of the characters from Chugginton and random storylines from it. I was both amazed and embarrassed!

She doesn't watch tv much but we do have a film night every other Friday with her brother and sister when they are with us. They are very good at dd appropriate films
