I am starting up a dvd collection for my ds, and wondered which ones where the most loved by other people's dcs.

Mightywease Tue 12-Apr-16 19:34:52

DS is very nearly 4 so a little older but he really likes "My Neighbour Totoro", "Toy Story 1 and 2" (not shown him 3 yet as I think he's a little too young for it ), "Fireman Sam: Heroes of the Storm" and bits of "Frozen"!

Basically he loves the "Let it Go" sequence but is not that fussed about the rest of the film!

When dd was that age it was the classic Disney version of 101 Dalmatians - and still is, many years later smile

Winniethewylde Tue 12-Apr-16 19:40:03

The original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with Gene Wilder. Both dcs love it actually (3 and 6) and don't seem to tire of it.

Winniethewylde Tue 12-Apr-16 19:41:09

Also Hotel Transylvania 1 & 2 smile

Avebury Tue 12-Apr-16 19:41:51

The bee movie

Tanito279 Tue 12-Apr-16 19:42:14

Snow White and Cinderella. Specifically Lucifer the cat and the dwarfs.

Ds is 2 1/2 and has enjoyed beauty and the beast, jungle book, frozen, finding Nemo and the Thomas the tank films. Less keen on monsters inc, toy story and ice age. He tends to prefer things with songs in.

JuniorMint Tue 12-Apr-16 19:44:05

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Monsters Inc and Monsters University
Chicken Run
Ice Age

Also loves the half hour Julia Donaldson animations which you can get on DVD- the Gruffalo, Gruffalo's Child, Room on the Broom, Stick Man.

RatOnnaStick Tue 12-Apr-16 19:44:31

Ds1 Was Cars and Planes. Ds2 doesn't really sit and watch for that long but if he did it would probably be one of the Thomas movies.

wheresthel1ght Tue 12-Apr-16 19:46:52

cakesonatrain Tue 12-Apr-16 19:48:29

DD is 3. Loves Frozen, Cinderella, Snow White, Tangled and Barbie films.
DS enjoyed Jungle Book, Cars 2 and as many episodes of Fireman Sam as I would let him watch!

NeedACleverNN Tue 12-Apr-16 19:49:41

Dd is 3. She likes

Cinderella
Frozen
Tangled
Rio one and 2
Despicable me

TheRightThingToDo Tue 12-Apr-16 19:54:22

The Croods, both of the new muppets films and Monsters University.

Quite an eclectic mix confused

Libertybazar Tue 12-Apr-16 19:57:50

Finding nemo.

Can your kids all sit through and follow films at 2/3 yrs or are they more looking at the pictures?
Mine likes the black and white bit at the start of Paddington but not the actual film. He hated Horton just kept shouting no and crying.
Quite like the where the ark one.
Ps I'm not in the UK so they are translations of our titles, hopefully you can work out what I mean.

Niklepic Tue 12-Apr-16 20:11:09

Dd is 3. She loves Frozen, Tangled, Minions and Lady and the Tramp but not 'the naughty bit' (with the rat) and Toy Story. She's tried a few other Disney ones but wasn't overly fussed.

JuxtapositionRecords Tue 12-Apr-16 20:19:28

mighty out of interest why do you think your DC is too young for toy story 3? Not judging or anything, just curious.

Mine like Frozen, Toy Story, Mary Poppins ( I didn't think the 3 year old would like this but she loves it!), Kung Fu Panda.

HeartShapedBox Tue 12-Apr-16 20:22:18

Ds2 loves Up, Dino time, toy story 1,2,3 and the SpongeBob movie.

DD (3) loved beauty and the beast, frozen and toy story 1,2,3.

Ds1 (5) loved Edward scissorhands. On repeat. All day, every day. And occasionally Jurassic park 1,2,3, or the walking with dinosaurs/monsters/beasts series.

wheresthel1ght Tue 12-Apr-16 20:26:06

Winchester - yup! She can tell you what happens next, relates to life eh in Dino time she will point at the mummy T. rex and say that's you mummy. In ice age she will compare Manny to her dad

She can tell you things about the films etc. I was shocked as I thought it was just the music she likes in frozen!

We went to a train museum recently dp is a complete geek and she walked round telling everyone about which train was which in terms of the characters from Chugginton and random storylines from it. I was both amazed and embarrassed!

She doesn't watch tv much but we do have a film night every other Friday with her brother and sister when they are with us. They are very good at dd appropriate films

NeedACleverNN Tue 12-Apr-16 20:29:21

Oh yes my 3 year old pays attention
She starts shouting naughty lucifer before he starts dust patterning the floor

winchester1 Tue 12-Apr-16 20:29:33

Oh ok, we don't have much tv on and only started watching films a few weeks ago. I'd assumed he was far too.young tbh. I.guess it will come in time, prob not till the winter though when we are in more.
