I need a list of "must see" movies

DH away with work next week so once the babies are asleep at 6.30pm I fancy settling down with a movie each night with my dinner. As DH not here I can indulge without having to find something we would both like.

Films ive watched recently and enjoyed are
Shutter Island
Inception
Life of Pi
Bridesmaids (why did I wait so long!)
Hunger Games (the three that are out anyways)

Dont mind most genres except horror.

Also dont mind age of the movies - dont have to be current.

What would you suggest I must see?

Another vote for Rear Window. I have old fashioned quality taste but I like some good modern stuff...

Rebecca
Some Like it Hot
Sabrina (old or new version)
Defiance ( not seen myself yet but got DVD and told it's great)
Heat (De Niro and Pacino)
Regarding Henry (actually just about anything with Harrison Ford in it)
12 Angry Men
The Help

Happy watching OP

Do not watch Dawn of the Planet of the apes.

Saw The Butler recently which was good and if you're in to Richard Curtis films, About Time is enjoyable (though a bit weepy in parts). Watch A Fault in Our Stars if you fancy an all out crying session Grin

True Romance is my favourite film though Smile

Disclaimer-these are not films you have to concentrate on, they won't make you think or anything like that. Just a good 80s escape....

About Last Night
St Elmo's Fire
She's Having a Baby
The Breakfast Club
Pretty in Pink

Lots of these, especially Fargo, Some Like it Hot and Withnail and I, plus, off the top of my head:

Cabaret
A Knight's Tale
Mary Poppins
Something from Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away is probably thought of as their best but my favourite is Princess Mononoke)
Brassed Off
A Most Violent Year
The Women (the old one, NOT the remake with Meg Ryan)
Double Indemnity
All About Eve
All About My Mother (these two are a great double bill)
