I watched one called The Retreat on Netfilx the other week, it was a bit slow in the beginning, but it really leaves you guessing right until the end.

Another one with a twist that I watched on there was Gone Baby Gone, which was pretty good too.

This thread has reminded me of a film I watched about 20 years and I cant remember the name of it but it had an enormous twist at the end.
The plot was along these lines, someone was being chased, stalked and was in danger, police on the case, film focused on the girl victim but at the end it turned out she was the bad one all along. Wish I could remember the name of the film, would love to watch it again and look out for clues.

Fight club! Best closing sequence ever!

The crying game is extraordinary too.

It is now really annoying me! I watched it on TV, maybe someone will come along with the answer. That is what usually happens on mumsnet!

Going back to my mystery film, she was an escaped prisoner and dangerous, but the girl who seemed to be the one in danger turned out to be the escaped girl. I shall keep googling it

The Vanishing - but only if you like horror films that will wipe out sections of your brain and stay with you in a bad way for the rest of your life. I don't. Watching it was a mistake. But it is an amazing film, with a terrible twist.

Memento, The Prestige, Vanilla Sky, Timecode are all good films with a twist. I also loved the film Inception but its not a twist as such.

I watched the Usual Suspects for the first time recently and was really disappointed because I guessed the twist. And I never normally guess things like that!

It was repeated on tv a couple of months ago, storynanny, and I saw it!

Not that that helps you remember the name, as I don't know it either...

Wow northy that brings us a bit closer to locating it. Can you remember which month it was on and what channel? Did you enjoy it?

Storeynanny, I remember watching a French film starring Audrey Tatou that sounds like the one you describe. Did it have subtitles?

Was it "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not"?

Oooh I love a good twist but I HATE it when I work it out. One of the biggest disappointments was Sixth Sense, worked it out really early on and spent the rest of the movie hoping i was wrong. The best ones for me have been The Usual Suspects, Fight Club but my favourite was probably Primal Fear - did not see that coming!
