I couldn't get through 10 pages of the book, so I'm not going to bother.

I read the books years ago, pre-dc

It was hard going admittedly

One of his hardest IMO

I watched a trailer, seems to be a black-comic slant to it?

I can't think of a single person who'd wang to see it with me though...

I saw it last night, it's aces Grin McAvoy is phenomenal as Bruce and still hot despite being rough as a badger's He's nasty, vicious, funny, mad, disgusting, pathetic, sympathetic and pitiable. He gets increasingly, and convincingly, more dishevelled and gross throughout the film and it's entirely believable. The supporting cast are also great, Jamie Bell is excellent, as are Shirley Henderson, Jim Broadbent, Joanne Froggett and John Sessions. Keep your eyes peeled for David Soul! I enjoyed the novel more than I enjoyed Porno, though not as much as Trainspotting, but the film is outstanding. I liked the way they incorporated the tapeworm, very clever. I highly recommend seeing it, but as with Irvine's novel, expect swearing, sex, nastiness and black humour.

I didn't know they'd made a film of this. I kind of enjoyed the book and would be intrigued to know how they incorporate the tapeworm on screen. Can't think anyone I know will want to see it though so I'll probably have to wait to see it on the small screen.

The tapeworm is incorporated in a different way to the book. It wasn't immedately obvious to me that the bits with it in were meant to be the tapeworm, I thought it was just Bruce tripping out is dumb

Right, am going to see it

Cheers for feedback!

Read the book years and years ago, think it might be a bit hard core for me now. Have seen the preview and it does look good though......

Went to see this last night & it's really stayed with me. Loved the way that they kept suspense in the ending rather than just an unremitting slide into misery there was a possibility for redemption tantalising then deprived which I thought was more honest and in some ways a happier ending.

JM was amazing. I hadn't read the book & didn't know what to expect so I was rooting for him to walk all over everyone & come out top. I also thought it could have got so much worse judging by some of Welsh's novels.

Wouldn't watch it again though. Way too disturbing.

Aghhh was disturbing and I have pretty broad taste in movies but this was a bit much for me.

And a really REALLY bad choice for a second date....:(
