I'd like to get my sister (29) a fiction book for Christmas to go with other gifts. She's a professional woman, no kids (just lots of nephs!) and is currently reading the Stephanie Plum novels. Sadly I have no idea about books. Any suggestions please for some subtle feminist fiction books?! If not, how's the new Amy Poehler Yes Please book? Thanks!

I enjoy reading 'subtle feminism' and would recommend:
Bodies of Light - Sarah Moss
The Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Atwood
The Children's Book - AS Byatt
The Poisonwood Bible - Barabara Kingsolver
The Hours - Michael Cunningham
The Help - Kathryn Stockett

Does it have to be fiction? I also love reading biographies / autobiographies about inspiring women, such as:
Why be happy when you could be normal? - Jeanette Winterson
Wild - Cheryl Strayed
Romantic Outlaws: the extraordinary lives of Mary Wollstonecraft and Mary Shelley - Charlotte Gordon
Clothes, clothes, clothes. Music, music, music. Boys, boys, boys - Viv Albertine

That's an amazing list. Thank you so much. I shall keep it somewhere and start buying for my sis and my friends I think!!
