I have been prescribed this by my GP for PTSD/Depression and wondered if anyone else has had it and how they found it?

Is it just another brand name for fluoxetine?

I've had venlafaxine, which is also a snri (not to be confused with ssris like fluoxetine, though they are similar.)

I didn't find it any good and was better with ssris, but the snris do seem to be better for PTSD relaterd issues so that may be why your GP suggested it.
Give it a month to get teh full effects then reassess it's usefulness to you.
hth!

Thanks Nicky, as you say it's a snri.
I started on 30mg on wednesday for a week and the have to up it to 60mg.
I've felt dreadful today, which as far as I can tell is normal when starting these pills.I was hoping for a positive story, hopefully I'll be able to write one myself one day!
