Oh bollocks - should I go back to GP?

sigh. I went on prozac for a variety of reasons just after Christmas and was told to stay on them for at least 6 months, and then come off them gradually.

So I've been feeling 100% for the past couple of months - back to normal, wonderful, really relieved etc.

So I stopped taking them a few weeks ago .

I'm finding myself tearful, very sad and feeling stressed out again. Now it's a stressful time at the moment with a new job taking me away quite a bit, living with my Mum, trying to get new house ready to move into in a couple of weeks, so I can't work out if I would have been feeling like this anyway??

The worst thing is the feeling of panic/anxiety that seems to be back with me again.

But I'm cross I feel like this when I didn't used to and haven't done for the past couple of months.

So, should I go back on the Prozac - I've still got about 4 months' worth, so could just start taking them again - or back to the GP for a telling off review?

sigh. Really thought I was OK - quite depressing really...

Did you come off them cold turkey or wean off gradually?

I would probably just go back on them without going to the GP

You should always come off these with the help and support of the GP it realy is a long process but tis better to do it that way and be monitored cause you don't want to slip back. They recomend taking AD's still for a while after you start feeling better to make sure you make as full a recovery as possible. Go talk to you GP hunni. You aren't the first and ypu won't be the last of us to do this.

Be kind to yourself and talk as much as you need to.

Oh Dotty

I did the cold turkey thing at the beginning of this year with the same results as you seem to be having... GP put me back on the AD's for a couple of months and then weaned me off them slowly and I am now AD free and doing well. I did get told off by my GP but it was worth it in the end to feel better again.

It sounds like you have an awful lot going on - why not go back on them until you get sorted and then come off them slowly?

Aww - thanks everyone. I just feel really stupid about it . So, I've gone back on them - taking 1 every other day, as I had a few side effects when I started taking them so am hoping slowly back on is the way to go.

Of course I've not gone back to my GP - no blardy time to! But I'll stay on them taking one every other day for a couple of months, and then go off them slowly.

I've just been surprised at how quickly I seemed to go right back to square one when I genuinely thought everything was OK - damn those ADs are good...!

Haven't cried so much in months and months and had a very wobbly week last week.

But lots of stuff is going on at home and work and I'm hoping when we've finally moved house and work's calmed down a bit (ha, ha) I might feel better anyway.
