anyone here atm I can talk to about self harm?

I really dont want to spoil my arms in this good weather but I so want to cut where it really hurts. Hope I havent spoken out of turn, but does anyone here know what I mean?

Hi naswm, I haven't got experience of this, but if you think of other times in the past when you felt like this and didn't do it, perhaps you can draw on that to get you past this moment now.

hi BBB tough day with a need to block memories out and also to punish myself as feel so dirty

not tried ice, will do that in a mo. Being on here is helping and fact that dh is home is also helping but I so want to - how bloody sad is that? idiot or what?

there is a good website that can help. it actually is run by a mumsnetter (or at least she used to be on here) if u want the like send me and email on crimsonangel2003 at hotmail dot com obviously with the right stuff

Perhaps tell yourself you will wait and see how you feel in the morning before you do anything. Just a few hours....
I think that when you want to punish yourself, thats the time that you need most cossetting. Is there anything self comforting that you can do?

stay on here and post on lots of threads about anything - anything to keep your mind off it and keep your hands busy.

The harm will give a release and then you WILL feel MUCH WORSE.

Keep posting - you have had bad days before and not harmed, that is what you are going to do today.

Go on you tube and watch some clips of your favorite programme or write some lists.

I am still v hot so perhaps a cool bath? altho the baht isnt generally a 'safe' place for me oh i dont know, I feel so pathetic

Ok. This heat reduces everyone to a pathetic 'I don't know'! Even the most mundane things are a bit taxing in this weather, never mind complicated things like feelings.
Where is a safe place for you? How can you make that place cool and comfortable?

Hey naswm... dont be ashamed by your need in the past to self harm. I used to self harm on a regular basis and had to go to hospital with a very deep one that i did on my arm. I even got ot the stage when i was writing words in my skin with a surgical blade - which i felt i had to do otherwise the way i felt inside would destroy me. I now haven' self harmed for around 6 yrs... with the only slip up being when i felt i let my DD and DP down and had to do it to release my feelings.

Hope you are feeling okay now - u are not alone

I read on your other thread just now. I think the time after a visit from a mental health prof can be quite an unsafe time. A lot of stuff gets stirred up.
How can you get through this afternoon in a way that helps you?

I really feel like this too atm but the thought of my DC seeing it is stopping me. Also anyone else seeing it and using it to take my DC away.It stops me from doing it but doesnt stop me thinking about it(almost craving it)and wanting to do it.

Not any real help Im afraid but maybe it will help a tiny bit knowing that there are other people out here in the same place as you are now.

ok cvq - don't worry, you are managing to survive the best way you can - its not a great coping strategy - but you are surviving and things will get better.

You know, this is the kind of thing the crisis team are there for, if its something you'd like to talk over with a professional at the moment.
