Tell me what to do today

I am in a damn mess and I don't even know where to begin explaining.

I have no direction today. DH will be home soon so I can't even feel sorry for myself in peace.

I have a few precious hours before my children are home and I don't know what to do.

Should I:

lie and cry in a corner
do housework
walk around the shops, even though I won't buy anything as I am in the wrong mindset
excersise (f off)
make a doctors appoitment (f*** off)
email the old counsellor even though it didn't help last time

New suggestions very welcome.

If your house is a mess, put your ipod on some fave music loud and get cleaning.

It will be exercise and if you can't help but feel beter when your house is tidier

I agree with dropdeadfred - I always feel much better after getting stuck into the housework. It puts me in a good frame of mind and you may feel better when everyone gets home.

Thanks. Its not too bad really, I did that on Wednesday. I could clear out my wardrobe but I fear, the mood I'm in, I'll just end up crying at the pile of crap ugly mother clothes that fall out of it.

I get days like this.

Are you tired? Get some sleep while you can. Everthing else can wait until you feel more energetic. Thing seem so much better when you've caught up on sleep.
When DH and kids are home, leave them all at home and go and do something for yourself - even if it is walk around the shops and come home with nothing .
Then tonight, sod the cooking, all get yer glad rags on and go and eat out. Let someone else do the washing up.

Thanks for replying. I just don't want to do anything. I've asked my mum to babysit tomorrow night to make myself go out. I already don't want to as I feel crap and thus look crap.

And not doing anything makes me hate myself even more.

I need to face it don't I. I need to get some help.

Sometimes I have to push myself to do things when I don't want and it usually ends up really enjoyable. Keep yer chin up.
I still say go and have a cat nap.

go to the library - get some annoying self help books. gets you out, you get exercise going there, gives you something that you're doing positive for you.

do one houseworky thing. just one, then try another. make a list of small things and work your way through it. stop when you feel like it.
