I am so exhausted.

I am trying to stop drinking as well. So the odd glass of wine or 2 used to help but stopped a week or so ago.

I am on ad's as without I get awful panicky type feelings and palpitations as I am going to bed.

So even though I am not drinking now I am still taking the ad's but not sleeping.

I just want 1 good night's sleep

Hi soootired. I am sorry you are feeling like this but I know what it feels like not sleeping.

There are three things you could try:

  1. don't go to bed until you are very very tired

  1. when in bed try not to think that you won't sleep or worry about it otherwise it will prevent you from sleeping.

  1. Do you have a Neal's Yard remedy near you, or a place where they sell herbal tinctures. If so try passiflora, camomile (can't remember the third ingredient but a herbal pracitioner would)+ lemongrass if stressed/anxious. It tastes foul but really really work and is a more natural alternative than wine (by the way wine actually disrupts sleep so best to avoid esp with ad)

Personally I have never really mastered 2). good luck, I hope you feel better soon

I often have trouble getting to sleep.

I find that a really long walk (at least 2 hours), then a cooked dinner followed by a warm bath really helps to kind of 'reset' my sleep pattern to a more healthy state.

Listening to the radio when I get to bed helps too.

My downfall is watching TV until I get over-tired, or snacking in the evening, which gives me energy when I should be winding down.
