I've just got back from a lovely week long holiday with the family but now feel really down again. I've been on ADs for about 4 weeks for anxiety and had started to feel back to my old self. Felt fine while we were away but I seem to have come back to reality with a bump. Starting to worry about the same old things again...

What can I do to pick myself up?

Try everything. Something will click. I think ADs can take a while to take hold can't they?

Try:

  • looking a old photos (you only photograph the good stuff, it will make you smile, make you realise your kids are fantastic and you will see your life differently)

  • clearing out a space that looks hideous (even your make up bag), great satisfaction follows and then you start the upward climb of feeling better

  • doing what you really must then sitting back and just doing nothing, wrapped in a big jumper or duvet (sometimes wallowing in your feelings is beneficial)

  • using your anger to clean and tidy

  • changing something, move the bed to the other wall, hang your clothes at the other side of the wardrobe, swap drawers in the kitchen.

Keep fighting. When you feel in charge of the situation you feel power, power brings confidence.

    HTH

Thanks frumpygrumpy. I've just done some pruning in the garden and hacking away at the undergrowth always makes me feel better!
