Advise with Fluoxetine

My Dr has prescribed Fluoxetine to see if it helps lift and motivate me. But he advised against bf and also said DS2 would have got the main benefits of bm by now at 10mths.

Is it necessary to give up bf and ff till a yr?

Once again he didn't seem forthcoming with ad's, told me to count to 10 and do something with my lo's to help me

Bloody useless GP!

If you want to keep bf then do so, it will not help you at all if you end up with guilt feelings and more depression, If you are happy to switch to FF then that's fine, but do it only if it's right for you and ds2.

Check out the links I posted on the other thread, have a good think and don't rush into anything.

I haven't caught up with your history I'm afraid so I don't know how you're coping, or not, but you're not alone. So many of us habe been there and you will get loads of tips to sift through and take what you need from them, I imagine.

Gotta go deal with dd but will be back later.

Check out Sertraline on those links and see what it says. I'm sure i preferred that to Fluoxetine and that it was preferable for bf....

Back later {{BUG}}

Thanks both, I've been given some good links and info which I had a quick look at.
Glad to hear someone else has bf on it too chocoholic, how old was your lo when you were on it and how long for?

I started taking it when I was 4mths pg and carried on bf til he was 6mths old. When I was prescribed it I was told it was OK to bf whilst on it. I think GPs make it all up you know!
