Having an off day. DH is away for 2 weeks but called last night to say it's now three weeks. I love my son SO much but I need an adult voice to make me laugh today. Anyone got any decent jokes?

Hi there Cheechymunchy, my dh away for just one week, but know how you feel! Its the pits when they are away not so much during the week but i find weekends the worst. Just wanted you to know you are not alone and did not want your post to go unanswered

My dd1s favourite joke at the moment is

-What are the white bits in bird poo?

Answer - They're bird poo too.

Much giggling about poo.

Actually that's not helpful is it - you were hoping for something more grown-up. Hmm, will have to think.

Thanks, Singapore. Actualy, DH is pretty much living in another country at the moment (we're trying to relocate abroad for his work). He used to be away during the week and back at weekends but this is such a long stint that it's really getting me down. Because of the relocation, it also means that when he does come back, all we can do is wade through paperwork and have important discussions rather than enjoy each other's company.

God I need a hug and don't want to cry in front of DS when he wakes up. Have no family where I live either.

Maybe I should just give myself a slap, keep my chin up and get through the rest of the day until DS goes to bed. Then I can have a glass of chilled white and a few tears.

You are me a year ago, we relocated to, guess where? Dh went at Easter and we followed in the August. We relocated from London, and all my family is in Dublin so have a good idea of what you are going through, but this blue bit will pass and you will be fine, you are doing the hard bit now just try and focus on the future when you will be settled and together again. HTH.

Damnit Singapore, your comforting words make the tears squeeze out even easier! DH went to Munich beginning of May. Has been back a few times but the stints away are getting longer and longer. The final BIG MOVE should be beginning of August, but boy is this stage hard? I jsut want to skip all the stress right now and magic myself to the new house, all settled. Take each day as it comes, eh? x

Oh dear did not mean to make it worse, but just keep in mind that this is the worst bit and will soon be over, anything after this is a piece of cake! August will be here before you know it. This is just a bad day and tomorrow will be better.

Hi Singapore, don't worry, the tingling of tears were relief at finding someone who knows the feeling today.
LOVE the joke, though! I hadn't heard that one before.
Cripes, DS has just woken up. Thanks for the kind words xxx
