Treatment for PND

It's been over two years since I had my ds and I still have really dark days/weeks.

I never really went for treatment when my PND was at its worst in the early days (I didn't realise that's what it was, at the time I felt feeling like that was a rational response to having a baby and losing my freedom and independence).

It has got better to a degree as ds has become more interactive/able to have a conversation, and with my return to work, but there are periods when I just can't shake the dark feelings off.

At the moment I am really averse to the idea of taking medication, and the only talking therapy I can access locally is £50 a session.

How have others found that the various treatments helped them with PND? What was it about talking therapy that helped you? And if you did use medication, how did it change the way you feel, and has it been difficult to come off it again? If you didn't get treatment, how did you manage to get better in the end?

Thanks for your help.

I didn't want to read and run.
I'm still waiting for my treatment and my son is 7 months old. Like you, I have good days and bad days but I am sad that not enough is done for MH issues, not just PND but everything.

I hope you can get some kind of treatment and the good days soon cancel out the bad Flowers
