My anxiety and depression has got so bad I feel I am losing control.

I can't sleep, I can't eat, I feel sick all the time. I'm supposed to be on a late shift today and ended up ringing my boss - unsure the reason why? Not sure if I was originally ringing to phone in sick? But I cried my eyes out down the phone to her. Never ever done that before.

Ive always been able to control it but because there are big things going on in my life it is manifesting itself in this way and I can't cope.

Work gave me the start of my shift off to get a doctors appt but surprise surprise there are none. I'm waiting for a phone call.

I don't even know why I'm posting this I just need to know im not alone :-(

You are most definitely not alone! Get yourself to the doctor as soon as you can. Go and sit there until they give you an emergency appt if you need to.
And then cry all over the doctor too. This is absolutely normal - that's why they have tissues on their desks.

Your GP will help you take the 1st steps to overcoming and managing your anxiety. It will happen flowers

Sorry to hear that you're feeling rubbish parma. Sending hugs.

I can't help, except say you're definitely not the only one. I'm going through a freaky rough patch too.

Can you call or text or e-mail to say you're waiting for an appointment, you won't be in today, and then have a cosy duvet day, eat something nice, watch a funny film, read a good book, drink lots of tea. Sending flowers cake brew chocolate

Thank you Ohno, nice to hear im not alone. I did contemplate just going to the doctors and becoming a nuisance patient but they were adamant they had no appts. Maybe when they talk to me on the phone they'll bring me in, fingers crossed. :-)

Not freaky, really!!

Thecatgotmytongue Mon 25-Jul-16 12:31:27

Definitely cry at the doctor. In my experience they don't take you seriously otherwise.

I am crying every few minutes but knowing my luck they'll ring and I wont!! Haha.
I was on a late shift Cat, so they've halved it and I'm to start at 5 and given the morning as annual leave. I can't afford to take sick days :-( it would be nice though!

OP you are not alone. Sorry you are feeling this way.
I suffer from anxiety that has become pretty much chronic

It is a horrible thing but some days are better than others.

It sounds like today was a bad one.

When are you back from work? Can you try to do something nice? Bath/ book/ early bed/ music

Ive just got back from work. The phone call to the doctor actually achieved something believe it or not, he's prescribed me some tablets and wants me to come in for a catch up in a week or so.

Surprising to see a Dr take things seriously but I thjnk me crying down the phone made him realise I wasn't pulling his leg. He offered to sign me off work which I declined but if it continues I will reconsider.

Thank you for all your support flowers

OP what a brilliant step regarding doctor! Things will start to pick up now slowly.

Remember on the bad days to take it one step at a time and be in the moment.

Thank you ☺️ I feel a little more positive but still struggling at work. Really don't want to be signed off as really routine is good for me but it's becoming difficult. Hopefully I can just get through the week xxx
