Feeling so low today. Tired. Sad. Lots of anxiety.
Has anyone felt better on Sertraline on Day 10 or close?

Hey,
I've been on sertraline for 4 weeks now and everyone has noticed a change
For the first two weeks I felt awful even more anxious then normal! But after continuing it I do feel better! It just takes a while. They do say the symptoms can get worse to start with when you start medication. Xx

Hey :-) Have you also noticed a chance for the better?

Yeah for sure. :-) It is worth continuing on. The first few weeks were hard I am not going to lie because it's the tablets adjusting your brain but then at around 3-4 weeks you just feel this relief. :-)

Ive been on sertraline for a few months now, I was first prescribed the 50 mg then I went back and I am now on the 100 mg, the first four weeks for me on both mg were hell, have you considered taking it at night time? I've found that really helps me. As tans says after four weeks you feel relief and everything feels like its fusing back together again iyswim.

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better Smile

Sertraline has changed my life, it was pretty hellish for the first few weeks (maybe even a month) but when they started working I felt like a different person and I'm so glad I stuck it out. So...keep going!

Metro - are you on 50 mgs?
I have had a few better days - but today the anxiety is back... I am on 50 mg and have been for 16 days... I really want to stay at the lowest possible dose - but wondering if 50 mg is enough to fight the anxiety...

Anxiety I was on 50 initially which helped a bit but 100mg made the most difference. But I'm on 50mg again now as I'm pregnant and they wanted me to drop down, depression wise I still feel ok but I'm definitely less anxious on 100mg so I'll be going back up as soon as I can!

Don't be scared of going up a dose, after all there's not much point if its not going to be effective for you on 50mg but it might do wonders at 100!

Plus my gp told me to wait about a week more before increasing dose (if needed by then) bc I have lost to much weight starting Sertraline (nausia, no apetite, anxiety)...

Just really hoping that I am doing better next week so I dont have to increase dose.. Plus I really dont know if 3 weeks on 50 mg will be enough time to be able to know if the 50 mg will be enough to stop my anxiety (keep Reading about 4-6 weeks)...

Metro
I am pregnant taking 50mg too. How are you getting on with it? We're the docs and midwife okay with it? X

Report
onthemetro · 25/06/2016 18:51

anxiety it will get better, I had a lot of side effects when I first started taking them too. It's rough but if you can get through it it'll be worth it.

tans I'm finding it ok, both midwife and doc have no problems with it because apparently sertraline is one of the safest to take in pregnancy. I am consultant led because of it though, but think that's to keep an eye on my mental health as opposed to anything that might be wrong with the baby. How far along are you? How are you finding taking the sertraline?
