I'm here. Was admitted a year too the day funny enough.

Is it your first time or have you been in before?

Hi Aveiam, I was thinking about how were you getting on. Sorry to hear you're in hospital - and here to keep you company Flowers

I've been in before.
I just sort of reached the end of my ability to cope. It happened in quite a calm quiet way.
Thank you for replying. I hope you're feeling better now.

You're not shit Aveiam - no more that any of the rest of us are Smile. All we can do is try, being unwell is shit, but you're not shit - because you're a person, who's had some shit cards dealt to them, but you're not the depression, and you're not the horrible things that have happened, you're just you navigating through this, and if you need a bit of support to get through it, then that's ok and that's what the MH services are there for.

Are they looking after you?

I am. The hospital did actually help. It didn't feel like it at the time though.

I haven't seen your previous post so I don't know how bad things are but I'm sure whatever it is you can get through it.

I did 9 days but I just have standard depression nothing that exciting.

DP (who I met in hospital) did a month under a section 2. He came out last August and has been completely fine on the medication they put him on. Aripripranol (sp?) which is an antipsychotic.

I wasn't too ill compared too some people on the ward, I'm still in touch with a few people and the change in them is incredible and they are doing fab.

Sorry to hear you're on a ward. I've been discharged today after 5 weeks. It's not a great environment in my experience--a holding pen.

Are the staff OK?

Sending you a hand to hold. Hopefully the ward will spark back into life a bit tomorrow with more nurses / Occy therapists and doctors around. I hope being there helps. It always feels horrible at the time, but looking back on most of my admissions they have been helpful

Have you complained op. Not that it makes it right but whoever did it is Ill themselves.

Are you on a section or in voluntarily op?

Might not feel like it but it's probably the best place for you to be at the minute. It was for me although it didn't feel like it at the time.

MummySparkle · 31/05/2016 19:49

Aveiam, you're in the right place for you at the moment love. What's the ward like now it's a working week again? Is there some sort of occupational T therapy programme? Are you allowed outside? (eg garden / smoke break) and is the food okay?

Thinking of you

Report
Aveiam · 31/05/2016 23:30

I'm in voluntarily but basically because they said I'd be sectioned if I didn't go voluntarily, it's all just hurting so much and it's too noisy here. I don't want to eat, the occupational therapist doesn't like me the psychologist is nice but I don't want to stay alive anymore

Hang on in there

Report
AnxiousMunchkin · 01/06/2016 07:24

Keep talking to to us, to the psychologist. We hear you, that you are in such a dark place in your life that you just can't see how you can stay alive right now. But you are still here, and you accepted that you needed to go to hospital for help and support - its never ideal on a ward, but they are there to look after you right now. You can let them.

What happened with the occy therapist that they don't like you?

My experience is its the same as any where some good staff some bad.

There was a nurse when I was in who was a right bitch. A patient was kicking off (obviously distressed) and she was sat outside the room on obs laghing.

Angry it's been a year and I'm still furious about it.
