Sertraline and breastfeeding

Hi,

I've been trying to find some guidelines (preferably nice guidelines or something official) regarding the use of sertraline during breastfeeding and wondered if anyone could help as I'm not having much luck. I just want to make an informed decision.

Thanks in advance

Your best bet is the breastfeeding network drugs advice. Setraline is one of the best ADs for being on, but a small amount is transfered across, iirc.
If its any use, I bf both boys. DS1 with setraline from 9 months, DS2 with setraline from about 4 months.

Thanks very much, I'll get in touch with them. I'm due to have my baby v shortly and my mw is very keen on me to go on sertraline now but I've said I'd consider it postnatally. I want to see how I feel first and also want to weigh up pros/cons

I've breastfed on sertraline, since DD was about 5 months. Absolutely no effects in her x
