Experiences with promazine?

Re-posting as made a mistake with name of medication on last post!

I've just been given some Promazine by my GP. Apparently this can be used on an 'as and when' basis. I've suffered from dreadful anxiety for a long time and have always managed without any medication for this. I had major concerns about side effects, etc, but after talking to a psychiatric nurse last year, found out that there are some medications that you can just take when you need it.

So, I'm here to ask if anyone has any experience with this medication?

Would be great to hear anyone else's experiences with this. Thanks in advance.

Are you sure it is Promazine?

Yes, actually have the medication in front of me now, and it IS Promazine. Sorry for the confusion. Actually, after reading about the other one that's an antihistamine, I'm tempted to ask for that! Guess I should give this a fair go first though.

No problem, I had Promazine and hated it, I found it wasn't very effective and it stopped my periods for 7 months too. I can't think of a single positive about it, but, that doesn't mean it won't work for you :-)

Promethazine can be bought over the counter at a pharmacy, it's £7.99 for 50+ tablets. It's wonderful!
