I've just been prescribed sertraline 50mg for intense anxiety which is coming out as a head twitch. I have been taking the sertraline for 2 days now and today I felt like my neck and head was in a clamp and I have hand tremors. I feel a bit better now but a bit spacey. I am not sure if this is the best treatment for anxiety as I am not really depressed, just had extreme panic attacks/head twitch and I suppose my GP didn't really know how to treat this. Anyway, I would like to continue with it as I know it takes a while to work and I can always come off it if it doesn't work. However, I would like to know if these side effects are common and if anyone has found it really helped their anxiety (especially if it was severe - social/performance anxiety)? Thanks!
PS. I have taken lots of anti-d's before but nothing for the last 4 years and the last one was mirtazapine which was great but I put on loads of weight so came off it.

Are tremors, twitches and intense pressure in the head side effects of sertraline?
