It didn't work for me. I took vit b complex & found it made my heart race. Taking 1000mg vit c is supposed to be good with the b vitamins.

Yes and yes - I take a multiple of the RDA and it does wonders for my PMT. absolutely worth trying but don't go for the stuff that's 2000% of RDA because the side effects can be significant.

I take B6 mainly for PMT but haven't noticed it does a lot for my mood in general. Sorry to be a bit negative.

However I've started taking magnesium, Vitamin D3 and an omega 3 supplement and am seeing how this goes. I've heard these are all good for mood. Bit expensive but worth a try I hope.

Hi Ted - have you found the supplement route helpful? I suffer with extreme anxiety following the birth of my DS 17 months ago. I have read that the anxiety could have been exasperated by insufficient nutrition. I'm pregnant again and the anxiety is still there (God knows what it may be like postnatally this time). I'm taking Pregnacare and Omega 3 this time in the vain hope it may help. They're expensive but I have read supermarket supplements just don't cut the mustard.

Thanks for this Ted. Are there any multivitamins you'd recommend for pregnancy? I'm a bit nervous to take a mixture of this and that, which I'd be lots more comfortable with when non-pregnant if that makes sense.

I take these every day in a B-100 from Holland and Barrett. Make sure you don't take over 100mg per day as they can cause nerve damage if taken in high doses for prolonged periods.

I take it before bed and it normally gives me quite vivid dreams. I don't think it has helped my mood at all though.

PS - For anyone looking for some advice on natural remedies to anxiety/depression read, The Mood Cure by Julia Ross. Has a lot of info on amino acids and different vitamins and how lack of enough of these affect our moods.
