Just after xmas I woke up feeling spaced out & very anxious with palpitations. I visited my GP and he diagnosed anxiety.I now get so scared of the slightest ailment for the last few days I have been getting a short stabbing pain in my head a few inches up from my ear.The pain can occur once or twice a day it's a sharp short pain that lasts a second or two then disappears.I don't feel nauseous and it doesnt effect my sight. My jaw and shoulders ache but it feels like I'm tensed up like a muscular pain. I'm fed up of going to see my GP and embarassed I know thats what he's there for but I have been so many times since the new year and had numerous blood tests that all came back clear. Just wondeing if this pain on the side of my head is tension & anxiety :(

Did your GP prescribe you anything for your anxiety cherryapple ? or give you any advice on how to contol it ?
i also get sore jaw and shoulders when im anxious and sometimes get head aches, when its really bad i sometimes feel sick, but if your bloods all came back clear then there is a good chance that its a symptom of anxiety but as im no expert im just going by my own experience.
im on medication for my anxiety but i had to go to GP a few times before he would prescribe anything so do go back.

No he hasn't prescribed anything he did recommend that I could try St Johns Wort which I did but they made me sleep heavier at night which lead to anxiety so I stopped taking them. It's such a vicious circle as one ailment gets better another appears and I dwell and worry about it. I don't feel that GP's are sympathetic to anxiety mine happened over night and was the most scariest experience that I have ever had which lasted for days I was waking up with bad palpitations. I thought I was going to have a stroke or die.I have an ache in my left arm that has been there since Dec but my GP said that it's anxiety and I should try & put it to the back of my mind. Thankyou for replying hun :)

Dont think much of your GP cherryapple, put it to the back of your mind [sceptical] if only it were that easy eh,
there are other things you could try such as self hypnosis and meditation cds, breathing exercises etc but if its affecting your everyday life then try another GP, sometimes its not possible to put things to the back of your mind and it ends up festering away and just gets worse.

Thankyou hun, Sometimes I can feel very relaxed then my heart will start thumping which makes me anxious its crazy. At the moment I feel very tense around my jaw and just cant relax I dont feel worried about anything but my head feels tight. I will look into meditation and yoga and see if it helps :)
