... and what happened next, if so? Were you referred to anger management? How long did it take?

Just wondering like Sad. Thanks.

I mean being unable to control your temper, for clarification. With kids specifically, obv ...! xx

And in the meantime- are you getting enough sleep?

Thanks, montmartre. Well, often not, I guess, but I feel that my body's used to it now ... as much as anyone with small DC really. I'm just depressed at the way I keep snapping with the DC, after the last time I'm so shocked at myself I swear there will never be a "next time" ... but there always is Sad

No hitting, Tiff, just the shouting and screaming in their faces thing. I'm a fucking despicable excuse for a mother and I've got no alternative now but to seek help.

My sweet children, they deserve someone to protect them from all the horribleness life has to offer, to give them a safe haven, and here I am scaring and upsetting them. Don't understand why I am like this. None of it is their fault, I know rationally. There's nothing particularly wrong in my life either! No bad parents, history of abuse or anything. But I take out the tiny irritaitions of life on them.

Thanks Tiff. My kids just set it off as I'm with them all the time, think it's just a basic personality flaw.

Depends if you have a decent GP.
I had an extremely damaging experience.
But on a plus side, for you ....
they will discuss depression, so maybe think aboutr that and do the edinburgh test, to pre-empt their questions.
They will probbaly suggest a parenting class. Our county ones are good.
Some gp's suggest a mental health examination, before agreeing to anger management classes. Here, waiting lists are quite long.

Is this what you want ? If so you can agree toi all of these.
