Stressed is caring too much about everything. Depressed is caring too little about anything.

Hope you're OK.

We have got so much on our plates at the moment, I don't want to say what or else I will out myself, but I am just going around in circles, by the time DH got home from work tonight, I'd been hiding away in my room, away from the DC's, crying my eyes out. That isn't what I do, I go and sort things, I go and make it all OK, but with these things going on, I can't, and I just don't know how to handle it.

Plus the fact that we are on our arses, we have a total of £17.28 until next Tuesday, we owe school £20 from last week, a £15 bill due out on Monday, and we are running really low on food. We have nothing to sell, and no other way of getting any cash. (By the way, this isn't a covert op. to try and ask for money from mumsnetters, I wouldn't let that happen)

I am seriously teetering on the edge, but of what, I don't know? I just don't know how much longer I can carry on like this without serious consequences.

wow that sounds like me stressedordepreessed. we all get stressful with things that are thrown at us, the kids, lack of money,etc...but depression is when you wake up every morning and you just want the day to go by quickly so u can get back into bed. ive had depression since i was 16...various experiences have happed and ive been taking meds and councilling, so i know how you feel. Ive spent those days in my room in the bath crying my eyes out till i cant cry anymore just to try and get it out my system. i know im still depressed but i make out as though im ok so people dont know, its harder when life gets you down and it doesnt help with this time of year most people feel the same, but if you do continue to feel like this go see your gp it helps to blurt everything out and leave it in the room and walk away, im here if you want to talk xxx

I think stress leads to depression, the sufferer will be stressed and reach a downward point where they can't cope any more and become depressed and unable to try any more.

A vicious circle :(

God, poor you. I think anybody would be badly stressed by your situation. Without knowing any details, it's hard to know what to suggest but I've found Citizens Advice Bureau useful in the past for financial problems.

Meanwhile, if you feel you're not coping, go and see your GP. Don't worry about whether to call it depression, stress or anxiety, just explain how you've been feeling.

I hope you feel better soon.
