Do money worries make you anxious or depressed? Do you find it hard to keep control of your finances, but don?t know where to go for help?

The Rethink Advice and Information Service is hosting a free event in London looking at ways of dealing with debt and getting direct payments.

Financial anxiety is a serious problem, but many people don?t get the support they need to get help with their debts. Many people could be eligible for direct payments as a way of being in control of their social care (personalisation), but don?t know how to go about this.

This Rethink event aims to give people with mental illness, their carers and health professionals practical advice on how to tackle and overcome financial anxiety and use direct payments to improve mental health.

The event is on Friday 26th November 2010 from 10am until 4pm at the Royal Institute of British Architects in central London. This event is for anyone that has been affected by severe mental illness, in particular healthcare professionals, mental health service users and carers.

An online registration form can be found here: www.rethink.org/get_involved/events/register_for_balanci.html . Places for this free advice forum (buffet lunch included) are limited so it?s a good idea to book as soon as possible. The deadline for applications is Friday 12th November 2010.

If you have any queries, please contact the Rethink Advice and Information team on 0845 456 0455.
