i ve got some sort of anxiety prob, dont like crowds, frightened of meeting new people or even talking to DS school teacher, and if we have to go out any where baby clinic etc, me and DP will almost always have a row as i get so anxious.i dont like even undressing DD in clinic for weighing etc incase they think im 'doing it wrong'

i started taking Kalms herbal pills for stressful situations and they say you can take up to 6 a day, 2 at a time with or after meals. im taking 6 to 10 at a time every few hours i now shake if i dont take them but am scared to go docs as they always say " oh its depression" but i know its not depression but the docs never ever listen to me.

i dont know what to do, not only for the sake of my health but for the cost too! they're bloody expensive!

You need to go to the doctor pronto if you are unable to stop overdosing by yourself. You are taking a serious overdose and herbal does not mean safe and innocent. You could be damaging in particular your liver and kidneys. Quite apart from the psychological problem behind it. So be brave. A low dose of SSRI antidepressants may be all you need to curb the anxiety and be a lot safer for you!

And when you're at the docs maybe ask for some counselling to help you find your confidence a bit

hi there, as willsurvive says you def need to seek help around this.

If your GP is not supportive why not arrange an appointment with a pharmacist? Many of them have private rooms for consultations now...

They often have more knowledge about drugs and herbal stuff than GPs anyway.

Ask if they can help you draw up a schedule of weaning yourself off.

You should not stop taking them suddenly by going cold turkey. You need to wean yourself off gradually.

Lots of ADs work on anxiety - speak to the GP about one that may be suitable for you.
