The last two weeks i have experienced a massive drop in energy, humour, everything really. And I ache like nothing, this morning I was feeling dizzy.I don't think I am coming down with anything and even if I was I'm not sure the 'low' I am feeling would be a sign of this.
I have noticed these things as they are out of character. I usually have heaps of energy and creative ideas for me and my little one to play together. However, I can not bring myself to do anything, and just stare and watch her play.

My little girl is 2 (just had her birthday yesterday), is it possible to have postnatal depression after such a long time?

Yes, it is possible to have depression two years after childbirth. Whether it is postnatal depression or main stream bog standard depression is almost irrelevent.

I think you need a discussion with your GP on best to proceed.

Yes, I have experienced depression when my son was roughly one years old. After the birth of my son I was fair euphoric, but I developed depression as I could get not get my son take solid food.

I was also very anxious that hideous things would happen to him if I could not get him on to 3 meals a day.

I think that anxiety and depression are very closely linked. During the early years you have a range of parenting challenges and lack of sleep. It is possible at any point to be tipped into depression.

I'm sorry to hear you have experienced this, and hope that you are recovered now. I have found the last 2 years pretty exhausting, but perhaps this is the way for all of us when you become a parent.
Thank you for your comments.
